Connecting A Blockchain-Based Music App Startup to Their Audience
As part of their launch program, tokenised music app GIGCO set out to break into the music venue and bookings industry with the help of Linguakey.
We all know how exciting it is when our favourite artist announces they’re rolling into town. Social media goes crazy and online ticketing systems form heavy queues. Eventually, with tickets in the bag, the big day comes around, and the only thing left to do is get ready, post a selfie, and tag your mates.
GIGCO takes all of that and combines it into an easy-to-use and tokenised platform for music artists, venues, and fans. By using blockchain technology, GIGCO removes intermediaries, creates opportunities for fairer financial rewards, and incentivises customers to get involved through community benefits. Partnering with Linguakey to get their initial launch off the ground, we provided a series of educational content and specialised PR to help build the GIGCO brand and raise awareness.
First and foremost, just like any new business trying to break into its respective markets, GIGCO needed to attract customers and build their identity. With three main audience groups to target—musicians, fans, and venues—educational and engaging content was our recommended solution to connect with each particular demographic and excite would-be users.
This content had to establish who GIGCO were, their mission, and how their services differ from any other competitor on the market. With the platform built on blockchain technology, and incorporating major Web3 elements, all articles also had to retain a simplified message that didn’t alienate non-technical audiences. To produce the educational and PR pieces needed to kick-start their launch campaign, GIGCO partnered with Linguakey—and we were more than happy to help.
To build GIGCO’s brand and help connect with potential customers, Linguakey created a series of educational articles and press releases ahead of their regional 2022 launch. Focusing on the digital asset-related element of GIGCO’s platform, our press releases were distributed to digital cryptocurrency publishers to maximise the opportunity to connect with potential users within the blockchain space.
Our educational content, which was developed around major music industry pain points, in addition to explaining the viability and attractive services provided by GIGCO, was made available through social media and written in response to industry challenges, such as how artists’ fees are restricted by their very profession.
To correctly understand these issues, we carefully researched the problems faced by those in the industry—research which was integral to creating informed content that resonated with artists. Building bridges between performers and GIGCO, as a brand, was a major goal in the launch campaign.
A key ingredient of the campaign we ran for GIGCO was to ensure consistency, maintain the brand identity, and promote accessibility. This included using simple language choices to make what could be interpreted as complicated technical terms simple and easy to understand, especially surrounding blockchain and tokenisation.
Following a successful local launch in GIGCO’s native northeast England, Ben Kindlan, CEO and Co-Founder, said: “Linguakey helped us with handling PR and we were glad to have their expertise on board. The result of working together was great content for the launch, we were super impressed.”
Having provided GIGCO with quality content that allowed them to break into the music industry, and highlighted the major pain points they sought to resolve, GIGCO’s social media presence grew significantly. With a combined community of over 30k Telegram followers, and a further 50k on Twitter, GIGCO’s launch objective of building brand awareness and establishing a strong foothold in the market had been accomplished.
