Discover the most influential women in crypto!

In an industry widely recognised as male dominated, it’s important to uplift women in the crypto space. Women make up only 15% of Bitcoin traders, and we hope that by shining a light on our favourite crypto queens, we can inspire more to join the community.

Vitalik Buterin and Elon Musk are just two examples of hugely successful men in crypto, but it’s about time we added some female names into the mix. In this article, we’re celebrating ten women who’ve made a name for themselves in the industry.

Charlene Fadirepo: queen of fintech

Charlene Fadirepo is not only an inspirational woman, but the founder and CEO of Guidefi. She’s built a fintech platform that makes finding the ideal financial advisors more accessible for women and professionals of colour. Fadirepo recently launched the Guidefi Academy, which includes cryptocurrency investing courses. She’s making a huge difference as a Bitcoin advisor and consultant, focused on helping small businesses integrate Bitcoin into their strategy.

Kathleen Breitman: crypto CEO

Kathleen Breitman is the CEO of Dynamic Ledger Solutions, a blockchain-based smart contract platform. She’s also the co-founder of Tezos — a popular and widely used decentralised open-source blockchain, and that deserves recognition! Tezos is gaining global adoption, with over 67 million contract calls and counting. It’s amazing to see a woman strive in the blockchain and crypto space.

Maliha Abidi: NFT art guru

Malihia Abidi is an artist, author, and neuroscience student. Her works predominantly focus on women’s rights, mental health, anti-racism, and shining a light on societal issues. 

This incredible woman is also known for her Women Rise NFT collection, a unique collection of 10,000 self-drawn art pieces. The collection represents and celebrates the diversity of women around the world, each with different features and backgrounds. 

Abidi is also the founder of The Story of Mental Health, an organisation dedicated to intersectional mental health awareness and provides both resources and safe spaces for women in countries like India, Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh.

Elizabeth Stark: blockchain entrepreneur

Elizabeth Stark is a blockchain entrepreneur that founded Lightning Labs. Yes, you read that right, Lighting Labs the scalability solution for Bitcoin!  You may have seen her name floating around the crypto sphere, as she’s one of the most well-known women in the blockchain community for her innovations surrounding the OG cryptocurrency. 

On top of this, Stark is an educator and lecturer in computer science at Yale University. She’s also a fellow at Coin Center (the leading digital currency policy organisation), and an advisor at Chia, a company building a new accessible blockchain protocol.

Stark has advised a wide range of startups, from decentralised technology to AI, and was an entrepreneur-in-residence at Stanford StartX. You can follow this blockchain entrepreneur here.

Kiana Danial: teaching women to invest

Kiana Danial is an award-winning, internationally recognised investing and management expert, in addition to being CEO of Invest Diva. Invest Diva helps families make good investments through master classes, consultations, and empowering women to become financially independent. 

This fantastic woman is already a professional speaker, author, and executive coach. Danial makes finance and crypto more accessible for the everyday person, in the hope of spreading awareness of finances and growing the crypto community. So far, she’s written four books including Cryptocurrency All-in-One For Dummies and Back to Basics: Cryptocurrency Investing

Laura Shin: spreading the crypto word

Just as it’s important to be involved in the making of crypto technologies, it’s equally crucial to broadcast crypto news to the world. Crypto and blockchain writer Laura Shin has been updating the world one article at a time since 2015. She was a former editor at Forbes, and, impressively, was the first mainstream reporter to cover crypto assets full-time! 

She’s written several books on the world of crypto, such as The Cryptopians: Idealism, Greed, Lies, and the Making of the First Big Cryptocurrency Craze (PublicAffairs, 2022). Additionally, Shin and her sources found evidence that uncovered the programmer behind the 2016 DAO attack on Ethereum. She’s a hugely influential crypto figure, and an inspiration to women looking to write about crypto as a career.

Tess Rinearson: blockchain builder

Tess Rinearson is a mighty force in the blockchain world. In 2015, she was a valued member of the engineering team at Chain and has built blockchain software, working on storage, and protocol problems. Additionally, she used to be a full-stack engineer at Medium.

From working as Vice President (VP) of Engineering at Interstellar and more recently Interchain Foundation, Tess was recently asked byTwitter to share her crypto engineer experience as the leader of its new crypto team. 

Rinnearson is a true pioneer, with a wealth of knowledge and experience that proves that women can flourish in the crypto space. 

Lyn Alden: crypto counsellor

Lyn Alden is the founder of Lyn Alden Investment and a Bitcoin OG. Alden has over 15 years of experience in performing investment research and works hard to deliver strategy. She helps investors at all levels covering a range of equities, from cryptocurrency to stocks. 

Alden is an investment strategist, as well as a Bitcoin Inflation and Prediction Specialist, dedicated to helping investors make sound financial decisions.

Joyce Yang: sharing crypto insights

Joyce Yang is the founder of Global Coin Research — a subscription-based media platform that provides users with crypto and blockchain insights and analysis in Asia. On top of founding a successful business, she’s also a contributor at TechCrunch, covering cryptocurrency and blockchain. 

Yang gained extensive experience in the industry with companies like Blue Apron, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Salesforce, Oracle, and Symantec. She’s also a crypto trader, holding coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Aya Miyaguchi: executive at Ethereum Foundation

Aya Miyaguchi has a heavy interest in blockchain, as shown throughout her crypto career. She joined Kraken in early 2013 to globally educate the public on cryptocurrencies and blockchain innovation. 

Her passion for crypto led her to join the Ethereum Foundation as Executive Director. She helps support the Ethereum Ecosystem through development activities, financial support and guidance, core research, and cross-sector educational efforts.
